Minelab Battery Connections

Graz

New member
New to this site so I'll start slowly. Received new Safari last week. Had it out the following day. Intermittent shut down and restart many times. Several forum reports of the ETrac and CX3030 doing the same. Minelab answer is check battery connections, (clean well), remove and replace the battery container a few times. I think the Malaysians had greasy fingers when putting battery case in machine before shipping. Anyone else here had a problem?

I had a problem with my Safari shutting down for no apparent reason. I use rechargeable batteries & so I decided to recharge my batteries, & I noticed 1 battery was not charging. I looked at the battery & noticed a small sliver of the battery label had separated & was laying across the bottom of the battery. I removed the label sliver & have not had anymore problems with it shutting down.

I purchased the RNB battery pack in March of this year, the one on the top of this page. They are great, I only use the battery pack my Safari came with as a back up. I never had a problem with it, pop it in and go. It last me the whole day and still has plenty of life left when I get home.
