Minelab back orders

I received a voucher for 100.00 with the purchase of my Excalibur the end of last year. You know the Holiday promotion. Well these vouchers expire the end of March. So I contact my dealer on the web to purchase some original Minelab GT accessories. Every thing is on back order. Minelab has basically fallen on it's face. I hear rumors of factory moves and start up problems. I really don't care. Minelab you better honor my voucher! Now 100.00 is not the end of the world to me. But you guys could not see down the road 3 months? Hell I think Toyota could see that far.

I want to use my $100 gift certificate toward the purchase of an Alkaline Battery Pod for my Excal but no dealers have them except for one in Mathis, Tx but he told me he would not honor the gift certificate, I would have to go with the original dealer, that really sucks. Wonder if a dealer would go ahead and take the voucher, send it to Minelab to get their money then send us the goodies when they get them? What is the point of giving out vouchers if you can't get the gifts? In all honesty, Indian Nation detectors, Backwoods Detectors and Kellyco told me they would honor the voucher, they just don't have the item. HH

Minelab have moved or are in the process of moving production to a factory in malasia(if i remember correctly) from Ireland, Any factory moving like this causes delays as machines are setup and workers trained. That together with the gold rush in the suddan gave priority to the gpx series(more profit per machine) at the cost of producing other machines in the line

Yea, I'd just use the voucher right now and you'll just have to wait for your dealer to get it in down the road. On the other hand, you might want to call Minelab and find out if any dealer has to honor that voucher and not just the one you bought your machine at. If that's the case then call the guy who has it in stock and tell him that if he doesn't honor it you'll turn him into Minelab.

I have heard some dealer are not honoring these as they don't want to stock any extras, but any dealer that does should be happy to honor these vouchers as they get reimbursed more than their cost of the item. One of the thing that is critical is the info on the voucher has to match the info on the warranty card which has to be sent in before and in Minelabs files, if not the voucher is no good. Those that want to use them at the time of the sale I was told the warranty card has to be faxed in right away.
The few I have done I had everything in stock other than a hip mount kit for the Excalibur which is back ordered and used up all my lower shaft in stock for the Explorer/E-trac that too are back ordered. Even though I don't have the hip mount kit yet I have it billed out and sent the voucher and proof of purchase (Sales receipt) to Minelab so when I get the kit I can send it right out to my customer. I think that is what we are going to have to do so the vouchers all get turned in before the end of March.

I did send in my warranty card and the dealer also put the number on the gift certificate he sent me. The only dealer that said I could send in the voucher and wait on the item was Kellyco so I guess I'll do just that. Thanks for the info. HH

I used a 100.00 dollar voucher with Kellyco, all Minelab items were on back order. I received the items in today,s mail. steve

My local Minelab dealer is up in arms over this. There was a trade show here recently and he did not have any Minelab accessories to sell, that really hurt his business. I am sure that Minelab will honor their voucher's, I have accessories on back order too. Are you listening Minelab??
