Minelab American Gold Striker nugget hunting detector

could anyone tell me how old are these discontinued machines and how much a used one is valued what you would pay for one in great shape Minelab American Gold Striker w/ stock 10" DD elliptical coil. Factory Owner's Manual. Ni Cad battery w/AC charger & AA alkaline battery holders.?????????????? are they any good why did they discontinue them ? i live in Oregon i have been told there is alot of hot rocks and iron in the ground here will this machine do well in grants pass Oregon ? Not sure how old they are, I had one about 10 years ago, they are ground tracking detectors, 32KHZ freq. I think, and mine did alright on the ground, I sold mine for $300.00 a few years back. never found any gold with it, but then I never hunted that much with it either. Seems like an ok starter detector, it will pick up the gold ok, but I'm not sure if it will handle really tough ground. Look at it this way, its a VLF detector, and Vlf's have lots of limits, you just have to ajust your detecting to the machine. Grubstake

ty grubstake i have found one that seems to be at the right price i contacted minelab they told me it did alright and told me what i should pay for it i will pay a little higher for what he is asking but it looks good and it is for my nine year old daughter i hope it will find gold it doesnt matter how big the gold is just find it she wont mind she is a digger squirrrlllle lol i am new at thiss nugget hunting game and am very excited about doing this with my family saturday i am going out in the field to look at a 4500 minelab to buy it hope it goes well wish me luck lol thank you very much for your input i do like this site this is to much fun already and i havent got the detectors yet and havent even been out lol !!!!thank you have a great day troy
