Minelab Advantage question.

I also posted this in the Explorer forum as I didn't see one for the Advantage so please excuse the double post. My Advantage doesn't beep through the speaker but works fine through the headphones. Any idea what causes this or am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Jeff
 
Couple of possibilities.

1. The speaker does not work.
2. One of the wires going either to the speaker, or the jack has disconnected or is broken.
3. The Jack isn't making the connection when you unplug the Headphones.

The example pic shows how the longer section of metal works as a switch, and when you pull out the jack, it has enough spring in it to contact the other strip of metal and connect the circuit for the speaker. Your jack may look different, but the principal is the same.
