178? 1/2 Reale and two flat buttons

Wow! I would be in a chair, drooling, and muttering gibberish. Well done.

Update it is 1778 Mexico 1/2 Reale

A fantastic find - congrats ! :clapping:

thanks guys, found a Chinese coin from the Emperor JEN TSUNG AD 1796-1820 rein and from the "BOO YON" (Yunnan mint) today

here is the picture of the Chinese Coin, I can understand finding the Reale, they were common in the late 1700's and early 1800's ... I can understand this coin being here from all the early railroad and tow path being built and getting here but after finding this one I got the craziest find but first the Chinese coin from the Emperor JEN TSUNG AD 1796-1820 rein and from the "BOO YON" (Yunnan mint).

So Monday exactly one week after finding the Reale, I'm at an old farm house dating back to the late 1700's that I've hunted hard, and I find the craziest coin, I don't even remember the number, I just knew it sounded good and about 3" down in the tree roots out pops this old copper coin and first thought is it's the size of a half cent so I'm fired up ... start wiping a little carefully to see what it says it starts revealing a set of Justice type Scales on one side and then the other side some Arabic looking writing. I get home and do a quick image search for Arabic coin with scales and I find it right away. it a 1881 Zanzibar 1 Pysa, Mind blow again. This one truly blows my mind of thinking how did this get to a small poor farm in South Central PA from off the coast of east Africa on a small Island, which was at one time a major port for slave trade and also spices and Ivory. three great finds in a week. I think this year it is all coming together I have dumped TTF and using a combination of Manual, Auto Sens any where from +3 to -3 depending on the site and finding more than ever. I had gotten lazy using TTF and missing some stuff, and I have slowed way down and overlapping my swings by at least half even more in super trashy ground, also have been having both deep and fast off and loving it. All the lights are on and everybody's home

Excellent finds man! :yikes:

If i found a 1700 something coin around here why.... i'd soil my underwear! :(
My area wasn't heavily settled until late 1800s.
