Military Pin-Jet & Lightning Bolt-What does it mean?

Found this pin and can't find any info on it's meaning. There are a lot of different pins out there, but I can't find one like this. Does it have to do with breaking the sound barrier?

You can send that picture to the Dept of heraldry and they may help you.

Hey Floyd,
It may be an older emblem of the... ARMY 28TH AIR DEFENSE ARTILLERY GROUP. Makes sense since it looks like the lightning is striking the airplane. There is a newer logo that could have been changed at some point. Google the above and you can look at the new crest.
Cool find!!!

So "Faithful and Vigilant" is the 28th's motto and they change the design of the insignia periodically? Thanks JimPa and Bunker314. I've only begun the search for this one and already I can see that it's a lot of info to dig through.

Old Nike Site unit emblem?

That's an excellent idea edjcox. It's certainly a high altitude jet, above the clouds, getting zapped from the ground.
