Found this about six inches in the ground with my mxt at a old school field in Ohio, Can anyone help id it and give a time frame when was used? I'm thinking it's military since it has a "US" under the Ohio. thanks.

Any writing on otherside? I personally don't know a whole lot about CW buttons, if it is one it looks to be in great condition. Try posting a picture of it on the safari/quatro forum there are some folks who might ID it for you. Nice find just the same !! Ron :detecting:

No writing on the back and the part that was on the back is missing, the part that goes thru the material. anyhow the numbers on the bottom are 166.

It's a WWI collar disc, probably from the Ohio National Guard. 166 is the regiment number. I have found several here in TX that came from Camp Logan in Houston... The back had a threaded stud and a small disc threaded on to it... Nice find
Don

Thanks Don for the ID, as I am not too familar with buttons. I have found many buttons through the years mostly colonial. Ron
