1982 was the transitional year for cents, USA don't make no stinkin' pennies. At first the coin collectors were weighing them to be able to tell the difference as they produced both for the 1982 year but GARRETT users discovered their machines could tell the difference. "Belltone" for the full copper Lincoln's and "Standard" tone for the clad Lincoln cents. The control panel will also show the full copper Lincolns as cent and the clad Lincolns below that. Indian Heads although supposed to be the same compositon to "copper" as the full copper Lincolns give a standard tone and show on the display between cent and nickel. Now you know the rest of the story.
