Mike Hillis syndrome....

If you raise the price each time, both of you could be making a good living with that detector.

I was thinking of getting a Golden too after reading all those posts. I just gotta sell a unit first. No way I can ADD another detector to the arsenal. But a lighter unit, for me, is becoming more of a priority. And a lighter, tone ID unit, is first on the list.

I got the standard 8X9 and a 10X12 coil with the Golden when I bought it in 2003, but for what I wanted the Golden for the large coil was useless, and I just didn't like the standard coil. I sold both, bought the X2 coil and I think it's a perfect match for the Golden. No noticeable depth difference compared to the 8X9, it's lighter, balances the Golden better, separates targets better and doesn't get hung up with twigs and undergrowth when hunting grownup home sites like spoked coils do. It's not close in depth to some of my other detectors, even with the 10X12 coil, but I wanted it because of the audio and light weight. Even an old arthritic geriatric like me can swing it for hours, and it's a killer on coins that are within it's depth range.

I just picked up one of the 7 inch X2 coils with a thought of putting a connector on the Compadre so I can use this coil. Now you all have me thinking again too.

Gonna get me another one, too.
