Mid south winter time hunt.:garrett:

Fortunately, the brunt of the ice storm passed just north of us and we dodged the bullet. Up early and made a doughnut run for my better half and I and noted right off our thoroughfares were in good shape and temp wise, 27 degrees, didn't feel to bad. Hence, after a couple of Gibson doughnuts and a piece of shared apple fritter, fitted up with cold weather clothing, grabbed the A T and headed out to and old spot. Hunted 2 1/2 hours when my fingers, with gloves on, were beginning to tingle, so called it a wrap. Nothing outstanding, but enough targets to make it an enjoyable hunt. Silver is always good, a 34 Merc and a 58d Rosies. Got a n/d d Buffalo nickel, 5 wheats for the better of the coins and 2 pieces of lead. Stay warm everyone. HH jim tn

Superb! Still pulling silver I see...Whats up with all the cut coins? Where are you at for the year for silver? You started out 2013 with a right bang with those Halfs...possible to get a group shot from you?

I don't know how you guys do it. The cold front hit us down here in South Texas (30 degrees) and I can't see getting out in it! BRRRRRRR* My AT Gold is just sitting here nice and warm and starring at me. That's got to be some dedication to a well-loved hobby! Good luck on more finds. Those are great! I'll sit by and monitor my computer screen in the warm indoors. We just ain't accustomed to anything below 50 degrees!!

Now that's something to be proud of.

It's too cold for me, besides I'm watching the Mississippi High School State Championship Games on the net. Go Oxford Chargers!

this is pretty much my silver finds since late April, this year. I sold, + or - a couple, 40 quarters and dimes to the club for our April club hunt. Not shown also is a 1880 Morgan dollar which I found with one of the halves back in Feb. That one went to my grandson. Also, I hunted with a couple of other detectors the first half of this year, before getting the A T Pro. I believe, though, almost all my silver finds since Aug on have been with the A T. Right now I am pushing the 140 mark on silver coins this year. HH jim tn

Nice going today! Excellent  pile of silver for the year as well. WOW-The ATP is a hot silver hound in your hands!

Jim, if you keep on digging silver at this rate, you're going to cause a sinkhole or earthquake! You're like a silver coin fracker!! That 1907 Barber sure has nice detail!

You've had a great year with all this silver. I believe I've only found 2 silver coins this year, but I haven't been doing much except water hunting and haven't done that in about 7 weeks. Spent all day in the pool at the ymca for my dive class and found out just how out of shape I am. I'm going to have to get in better shape before I go on my certification dive. Wonder how many silver coins you will end up with this year. GL & HH.

Mighty fine! Yeah, you got your Pro right before your first run up North, but man, you sure figured it out in a hurry...sort of cool little Forum where we get to read successes with this machine from first time detectorists to long time hunters such as yourself...gives a lot of confidence that this particular machine delivers on so many subsets of the sport and in so many different areas of the world... from water to clad to deep silver...is it too soon to say that if you could only have ONE detector this would be it?.... a question I ask myself...would this be the one I grab out of the stable if my house was on fire and I could only take one to use for the rest of my life? Hmmm?

Thanks guys. Being retired and married to a very understanding spouse, affords me the chance to hunt daily and that has pretty much been my habit since retiring in 06. I have been detecting for 40 + years, but only since retiring have I put in the time I now do.

As Mud has mentioned, I started out this year with big silvers and have found 5 other halves since. On 1/1 I dug 3 Walkers out of the same hole and in Feb dug a Morgan dollar and another walker on the same hunt.

Mud, as we know, no detector does it all, but the A T Pro now is my go to detector for turf coin hunting and when near water. It is great in iron and the typical trash found in parks and the like. And, I love its accurate id and little to no emi issues. And, if it hasn't been mentioned, it is water proof. I suspect it will continue to share relic hunting time with my F 75 LTD, but must admit, I have and am giving the A T Gold some serious consideration.

Anyway, it has been a fun year. HH jim tn

Wonderful digs. :) Your coppers look the same as mine when they come out. Pretty mineralized in some places here.
