microprocessor technology

I'm thinking about buying a Silver Umax, it says it has microprocessor technology (mt). How is this different from the high output technology (hot).
I currently own a detector that is to complicated, and I'm looking for something simpler and fun.
Based on the posts that I have read, allot of you use the silver as your back up detector. I'm wanting to use it as my main detector for awhile, get use to it and then maybe buy a higher end detector. The one I currently own has a tid, which drives me crazy, listen to the beep, then look at the display, which in most cases still didn't tell me that much.
I participated in a club hunt last summer, and spent more time going to the menu and adjusting the machine then actually hunting.
Pretty frustrating.........

Any info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From the Highlands of Colorado.....

I have the Silver and it definitely is fun. Just two knobs to mess with. you will spend more time digging and less time looking at screens. If you do get one go ahead and spend a little more and get the 5.75 concentric coil. This coil makes the Silver even more fun. Pinpointing is a breeze and you can still cover a lot of ground. Mine went bad and I sent it in to Tesoro. When it comes back it will be permanently mounted to the Silver. Good luck.

Yes it does have the uprocessor IC that controls the audio and battery test. But the Silver doesn't have the higher gain op amp front end like the Tejon, Vaquero, Cibola and Lobo. But the Silver uMax is really fun to use with serious capability.
