Mick, did you ever check that old drive- in NW of town by the airport?

Looks like you've been on google earth John. It has been a private residence for years. I only found out a couple of days ago, that it is going to be leveled in a couple of years, and some sort of resort will be built on it. The ground is either gravel or ash felt.My place is only a mile from there. If you followed the highway back into town; as soon as it passes over the railway tracks, follow the road to the left. Where it starts to move away from the railway tracks, you'll see a storm water drain. I live in the third house from the drain.
By the way. Next door to the drive in, you'll see a caravan park. A fellow I know, picked up $200 in the park a few months ago.
All the best for the season.
Mick Evans.

I love maps. I am hooked on google earth. If I had the money, I would love to travel the earth and see it all. I check out islands or a country and try to get the feel on how people live there. It fascinate me to see maintains and the lay of the land. I went to Hawaii and had my nose to the window the whole trip. I spent 15 minutes looking at ayer rock.

I'll have to look into google earth more. Heard a lot about it. Might be a good way to check possible places to detect.
You'd love to hang out with my in laws by the sound of it. They returned home today after spending 4 months travelling a lot of counties. Africa. Middle East, Mediterranean, Cuba and finally South America. My farther in law loves to photograph landscape and nature and does a fair bit on these trips. They do these sort of trips most years.
Some people have it tough.:ranting:
Mick Evans.
