Thank you Jeff. That looks like a good site to detect. Me and my buddy roseon3rd hunted an old home site and old school which is now a church today. We didn't find anything good. No wheats, no silver, but it was still a great day. Everywhere we went a red-tailed hawk followed us. I have hunted a lot of places with no silver (what am I doing wrong) I have an Explorer 2,Fisher ID Edge, Tesoro Golden Micromax, Whites MXT and Teknetics Mark 3. Were people in N.C. just that poor. I'm thinking maybe they were and most lost coins were searched for when they lost them. I find coins each time out and the coins I found today were all Lincoln memorials (copper variety) and a clad dime. These coins were between 4 and 7 inches deep.

Hi michaelnc....I'm not Jeff, but you have a lot of detectors and I think you need to use the one you like the most until you get used to the way it works! Don't set your discrimination too high....make sure you can hear the nickels beep! You will have to dig pull tabs and aluminum but you will find the occassional ring....if ya dig the nickels! I'm sure there is lost silver and gold in NC too! Be patient and swing slow and low! And Jeff can give you a lot of information as he MD's as well as selling detectors! Good Luck and God Bless you in finding the goodies! :) Betty
