Took the Infinium to Mexico (Maya coast). It was an all-inclusive resort so I wasn't sure what to expect. Thought about taking the AT pro, but since i was planning to dig every signal I figured the Infinium would be best. This time of year, high tide was at sunrise and low tide was in the middle of the day. The beach was huge! I decided to attack sections of it each day but something strange happened. I barely detected a thing. The beach was CLEAN! I managed a handful of really deep rusty nails and bobby pins. The 5 days I detected I only found two deep quarters and one cheap ring. I was dumbfounded. I did see a tractor hauling a beach cleaner behind it, but it was mostly for smoothing out the sand and maybe picking up cans or big items. However, on morning 4, I saw a resort worker pushing a beach cleaner about the side of a table. I'm assuming this is where most of the goodies are ending up.
There is a designated swimming area, maybe 100' by 100' with a few troughs and a huge sandbar. I went one day, chest deep, and after 2 hours I only got 1 signal--- a stupid bobby pin. No one else was detecting and a few of the workers would actually watch me detect. Weirdest beach hunt ever. Oh well, I still enjoyed myself, as I always do when detecting. It just gives me some kind of inner peace being alone in the woods or the water listening for subtle signals or just going thru my thoughts without the drama of the world.
Happy Hunting everyone,
