The 5 wires, are they red, green, yellow, white, and brown? I can tell you where they connect to on mine. Let me know...

Yes I'm new here and just bought the metrotech220..if you could please tell me where red wire goes I would appreciate it..
Not one for battery connected to resistor .. also if you know what type of battery for sound box..thanks a bunch hope I can get fixed I'm anxious to look for history. Thanks Lyndon

I found an old metrotech 220a in a yard sales but seems like they changed the original potentiometer and mostly sure the wires are misplaced , the potentiometer in the picture is a 50K ohm logaritmic TV volume with DPDT switch .
could you help me with the wiring?
Thank

Hello to all

replying to this post late ... I need help with MetroTech 220
Bought it from yard sale and it doesn't work.
Brown wire is disconnected from somewhere.
Something is loose in detector head also.

Anyone with service manual or you have this MD please reply.

Rlchntr - Gary do you have it still ?
Lindoejohn - John and Juan did you fix your MD ?

Regards
Sinisa

I.m one of the old time Virginia relic hunters. I bought my Metrotech new in 1967. Everybody used a Metrotech then. Most diggers used it backwards otherwise it would wear out your hand real quick. Metrotechs ruled the roost for several years and found TONS of Civil War relics!!! There were many more buried relics then . Metrotechs were useless in bad ground, but in mild ground they were unbeatable.. We Virginia hunters went next to the Nautilus detectors and many of us are still using them !
