Meter sticking on my 6000/di PRO sl

Just got this one to try out and the meter is sticking pretty bad. Anyone have hints on fixing it without having to buy a new one?

It depends if it is really sticking. It could be a static problem. Whites said to take the clear cover off and wash it with dish soap. I had the same problem with a 6000 series. Same meter and face. After I did it the needle quit hanging . Let me know if it works. Rob
 
Took the plastic face off and it still sticks. Seems to be in a bind. I can move it with the adjustment but where ever I move it is where it stays more or less. Does move a little so I know it's trying to work.

I don't want to tear it up but still would like to try to fix it...

Try a little very light oil on the spring in back..May have rusted a little by getting damp....be careful.To much will ruin it.
