meter depth

how deep will the meter read out and be accurate in heavy mineral soil when Id ing, lets say your average clad dime. They say disc mode goes as deep as all metal mode but then they say the meter doesn't discriminate as deep as the audio, can some one clarify that for me?

what it means is that sometimes on the deepest coins they may not ID on the meter quite the same as the shallower depth ones, but the audio tone will generally remain the same just at a lower volume, The smart screen ID is close at all depths in clean ground, but at extreme depths it may bounce around a little, as it will if the target is nearby trash or iron, but it will generally land in the right place most of the time on most of the jumps even at the deepest depths, Its important to listen to the tones as well watching the meter. Mineralized ground may also cause the targets to read a bit lower, but never out of the range you would expect the target to fall.. in ither words a silver dime wont read like a tab on the meter, it might end up left of where they normally fall, but seldom lower on the conductive scale...
