Hello all found this little chunk of something.
It's sort of purple/Black, with a redish brown mixed with it...Could it be a meteorite? How would you tell? <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

Found in a Park, Here in Indy...It registerd about half scale on the detector

Thanks for the info Buckram.
The first site you had listed had a test you could go through to determine if what you had was a meteorite or not. I got to about the 3rd or 4th test before I run into a bug,,, They say" Meteorites almost never have air bubbles", this one does. So, your probably right, never hurts to ask though. I am new to the hobby, and have a lot to learn,,, I looked for about an hour last night for some sort of site like that, but all I could find was the sites trying to sell meteorites...
