Meteorite Detecting

nad

New member
For those of you that hunt meteorites, are there any tips you can pass along. Detectors, discrimination levels, basic identification? May be about a hundred twenty days before I get out to do some searching./with digging...So, in the meantime, I am going to try and learn as much ,about everything that I can. Thanks, cordially NAD

Hey Nad, you know this already I'm sure, but to emphasize; you'll only find
nickel/iron meteorites with a metal detector, NOT the stony kind
called carbonaceous chondrites. So hunt in all metal, no discrimination at all,
just like when seeking Gold nuggets or Gold rings & jewelry.
Good luck!
