Metal detectors an insurance.

When I buy the excal 2 I am looking to find a way to insure it. Has anyone insured their detectors, an if so how? I was going to call an ask my auto insurance about it. Hope there is some one out there who has done this. Thanks. -Joe HH

Hello Joe,
I have done this with my detectors if my Excal gets stolen it's coverd under my home owners insurence. just make sure you take pics and keep all documents for insurence purpose.
have fun with the excal.

same here i have insurance for my co-op and even cover if the detectors is stolem out of my car

I am finding that the only way to get some coverage is property insurance, either renters/condo/home owners. Its around 200 per year and only covers theft, and fire. I asked every one of them about accidental damage and none of them would offer it.

Also, there are company's that insure PDAs an laptops and stuff...none of which are willing to insure a detector. Looks like its going to be renters insurance and at least if its stolen, even from my car, its covered. 250$ deductible.

If you are looking for damage coverage....I insured all my detectors thru Squaretrade dot com. You have to insure them within so many days of purchasing new....but the warranty is 3 years including accidental damage...no deductible. This coverage does NOT include theft. I insured (2) Whites Spectra V3i's, a Garrett AT PRO, a Fisher F2, and a Garrett Pro-Pointer so far....as well as all my new flat screen tv's, PS3's, and XBOX 360's. Great company and the insurance is cheap!!

Just what I was looking for. And I plan on using it. If my new excal shits da bed...I need a means to an end. Thanks for tip. Have you had to use the insurance before, any trouble with claims process? Thanks.
