Metal Detector Type

Hi. I've been considering building the detector listed at the url below. I'm curious if any here has fooled around with it or even know what type it is......I would assume a "P I" ? Anyone?

Interesting! Not enough info to build. It seems to be inductive pick up. Proximity of metal with coil changes inductance. No info on the Software required to program the Micro Processor.

If you want to build a simple Detector, Even a BFO would be better then this one.

Wowzer! It really pays to ask lots of questions before you invest your bucks and time on a project, thanks "Homefires." Why would someone list a project like this with schematics, Pc board etc, and not advise programming data or even comment about programming requirements? Strange. I've built several BFO units. They're ok, but I'm sort of looking for something for small pieces of gold that wouldn't be so sensitive to mineralization. Any way, thanks again, Ron.

How complicated do you want to build? GeoTech has plans!

GoldPick

This version comes with a preprogrammed Miro Proc chip! http://home.global.co.za/~trh/#Introduction

Gary's

This one NO Micro Proc involved. Kit available. http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Projects/Metal/Metal.htm

Let me know, there are others out there too!

I'm about to start building a Hammer Head! You may have to burn your own board, they just had some made and are all gone already! http://geotech.thunting.com/cgi-bin/pages/common/index.pl?page=metdet&file=projects/hammerhead/index.dat
