Me and my wife usually take a week vacation in the fall to go to a Jets game. This year they are not playing anywhere close so we decided to take a week long detecting vacation. We live in deep south Alabama and there is just not a lot of places to hunt where we live. We have access to a time share where we can go to a lot of places in the country. Anybody on here have any good suggestions for places with old parks where we could spend a week detecting? Preferably some place driveable in 12 hours. We definately want to go where the laws are friendly to detecting.

how about a holiday in the uk there is alot of history and i was speaking to a fellow detectorist last week and he is willing to take people from overseas on his historic lands if interested let me know and i will put you in touch

A little further than I can go right now.

Below are some detecting clubs in AL. Don't know if they are still active (found on google). You might want to give them a call and ask for suggestions. Good luck and HH.

Due to Available Data for historic Maps,I would say Either Kentucky,or Texas.
That would be so much fun just to travel to detect and enjoy the scenery.
