metal detecting trips to England

hello all,
had a few questions about those metal detecting trips to England I wanted to go on a trip in March 2009 but am not sure about it has anyone ever went can they tell me about there trip how do you know if the coins are pre buried? are the fields you hunt have they already been hunted out many times the trip costs 1800 dollars for five days do you think that's worth it I just don't want to get #%^& over if you know what I meen thanks all help is good help

I went on one of those trips last November and hope to go again soon. I can't speak for the other England tours but I can guarantee nothing is planted on the fields I was on. There are so many fields to choose from (and you make the choice yourself) it's impossible to plant anything. I suppose they could try to plant something, but nobody would find it for several years! My trip gave me 6 1/2 days of hunting time, from early morning till whenever I felt like quitting.

Be careful. There are some that do plant! I found out the hard way on my first trip, which, by the way was in March. Since then I have been on the Jimmy Sierra trips which are not planted. I have heard from very good sources that the colchester group is also above board and not planted. If the tour person does not offer to register your finds and get permits to take them out BEWARE!
