If so I would appreciate any help. I would like to take my wife there on Vacation and would like to know any good and/or bad experiences you have had.

Did you find a good hotel, all inclusive or get your own meals, Where did you stay and what areas are good and bad for detecting?

Any places off limits? I read somewhere that megans bay beach was off limits but I had heard before you could go after 5PM or when the people leave for the day

Thanks a million to all the beach and water hunters out there, I have not been in years and would love to try it again.

Well, I didn't have a detector then but I used to live there for a short stint. There's lots of old ground so could be interesting. Also there will probably be a lot of trash to work through. I mean a lot of trash. The beaches would be the cleanest probably. Remember this place has been wrecked routinely by hurricanes!

Just make sure you watch your back. St. Thomas has a very high crime rate. After dark make sure you're in a good size group. In the daytime there's good places and bad. Try and find a friendly local for good info. Most expats and mainlanders who live there will give you straight info. Don't be flashing gold, cash, expensive watches. Resort grounds are normally safe but we did break up an assault one night on a woman by a resort security guard.

If you make a find quietly pocket it. Don't dance around and show it off! That might invite unwanted attention.
