Metal detecting Oregon beaches

I am going down the Oregon coast for vacation in August. Can anyone tell if there are any beaches you can't metal detect. Thanks Dennis in Idaho

There are a number of Mo's resturants along the coast best clam chowder I ever eat. Ask for extra butter and some shrimp on top. I haven't been up there for 6 years for the chowder and miss it. As far as the detecting goes I can't tell you but the beaches get a lot of activity. The one at Lincoln City is always crawling with people. Wish I was going with you sounds like you have a good vacation plan. Keep us posted.Huuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm Mo'ssssssss

Oregon State Parks require a permit. These permits are free. If a beach area fronts a state park, a permit is required. Some parks/beaches may be off limits to metal detecting.

Call 1-800-551-6949 and ask for the name and number of the office that manages your park/beach of interest.

Call that #/park and ask for a permit for the park(s)/beaches of interest that are managed by that office.

They will describe what additional steps they require, if any.

Enjoy the coastal trip down 101 - some beautiful scenery.
