Metal Detecting in the Czech Republic

I'll be going to the Czech Republic for five weeks, and I was wondering if anyone has metal detected there ?

There's an estimated 10,000 detector users in the Czech Republic as its such a productive area. They are starting to clamp down though. As with other European countries don't detect near any designated "monument" site. (It doesn't have to be a building it could just be an area where finds have been made that they have decided to protect).
Get permission from a landowner and you should be O.K.
Might be worth asking one of the detector dealers out there to check on the current state of play. Only one I can think of off hand is Detekt www.detekt.cz

Thanks for the feedback Brian. I've been looking for tips via google, and they look to be an active MD'ing crowd in CZ, but unfortunately (for me) most of the sites are in Czech language, and google languages doesn't yet translate CZ websites. I'll check out the site you suggested.

Thanks,
Brian
