This is information is for everyone that looks for item's in the forest preserves in and around Chicago should know about the Midwest Historical Research Society the metal detecting club in Chicago has been working towards getting the forest preserves back open to the metal detecting community . To follow what is going on just access their website and read about it in their newsletter ( Trash to Treasure ) the website is mhrsdetecting.com . I for one who user's these forest preserves and am a member applaud the determination and committed people who are out there looking to help and do any and everything that they can within the boundary's that are available to them . I want everyone that reads about this to please help . There are to many places that are being closed to our hobby and without people like this and the community in whole , we can kiss the hobby that we like and have fun with goodbye because we need to band together and let our elected officials that we are responsible people and that we as a community do and will continue to obey the law's that we are given but also that when a law is unjust we will fight to see that the laws are changed to be far to everyone not just a few .
