Metal Detecting In Salt Water Sand?

Hotwire

New member
I saw an interesting youtube video on using a tesoro vaquero (9x8 coil) on salt water sand without ground balancing. The operator got 5-6" depth with no or minimum falsing. I was wondering if similar results can be had with lower priced detectors? What's your experience?

A good many lower priced detectors have auto GB. Single freq machine just arent the best choice for WET salt water sand. However, most work perfectly well on dry salt sand unless it gets wet. You may get better depth on a beach than dirt digging with a lower priced machine.
