Metal detecting in Missouri

Hey folks,

Looks like I'll be in Kansas City area next week. I was wondering about detecting in the Show Me State. I'll be in the Independence, Grain Valley & Blue Springs area visiting my Husbands family. If anyone knows of any specific rules or regulation about detecting or not detecting I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I hope to at least hit a park or two.
