Metal Detecting in Mexico

Jay Austill

New member
Going to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico this May and would like to do some detecting there. Any information would be appreciated, laws places to go, etc.

Thanks
Jay

Jay I am going to Cancun in May also and have asked the same question. From what I have been able to find out all beaches in Mexico are public beaches. I take this to mean that detecting is allowed. The only concern I would have is how to get all the finds through customs lol. I asked this question on several metal detecting forums and on Trip Advisor and got the same info. Hope this helps.

The beaches are all public and detecting is allowed. Remember to use little discrimination because you will miss the mexican pesos. As for coming through customs with all the loot...just tell them your "Mr. T"
