Metal detecting in hawaii

I'm thinking of taking my CTX to hawaii. Do you think Waikiki would be a productive area? Is there any laws against metal detecting? Is it safe becuase if I go due to crowds I could prob only do it right at sunrise ?

the only beach in the entire Hawaiin island chain I've heard of, that has any sort of prohibition, is only Hanauma bay. But ONLY because it's a wild-life thingy. Any disturbances (kicking up sand, prying out rocks, etc...) is affecting the under-sea marvels for the snorkler people, blah blah.

Fortunately, that's only .001% of all available beaches/frontage, haha. All the other beaches get routinely detected.
