Metal detecting - in drink - dry ... wetsuit + fishing waders

Just thinking about metal detecting in drink - dry ... wetsuit + fishing waders
Is this combo possible?

Not sure i understand your question. .... i have worn my 7mil wetsuit under my chest waders two different times... after about 1hour fatigue sets in... you initially dont notice how much extra effort every movement takes but soon find yourself sweating excessively. ... however,if you can keep your walking to a minimum and dont put the waders on until you get to the waters edge , you might be ok assuming you are hunting in a lake .... wearing the extra layer of neoprene makes you more bouyant in the water too...

It is solution of drysuit problem and wormth with no extra money.
Lake it is ...

If you are asking is a wet suit plus waders a good idea over a dry suit id say NO. If its that cold get the dry suit. Man id think movement in say a 6MM dive suit and wader would wear you out not to mention get hot if you are running around on the dry/wet sand much. Problem with a wet suit...... some days the one you choose is ok other days it aint. With a dry suit or even waders you can layer based on the days temps.

I also have no money. Sometimes what I will do is wear a 5mm or 7mm wetsuit. And then wear a raincoat on the outside. The raincoat for the most part stops the oncoming current from actually coming into contact with the wetsuit. Wouldn't want to try this in rough surf though.

I am asking as I have no experience with colder weather.
First year of detecting in water, done few hunts with wetsuit over knee deep.
Waders would be my choice for winter ... and many layers undergarments
I am going to buy plain waders 2 size bigger.

If your wetsuit is a 2 piece then i would wear the wetsuit top with an insulated vest or two over that then put the waders on.. that way you can hunt chest deep without getting your clothes wet.... wear an extra pair of socks to keep your feet warm and you should be good for a few hours... not sure how to keep your hands warm....

You can actually buy wetsuit fishing waders, haven't tried that but I think that would be the most comfortable option. As for regular fishing waders, I detect in them all the time, it's fine. My advice, wear pants that are made of soft fabric as water pressure squashes your legs, creases along your pants will press against your legs and they hurt.
