metal detecting in corpus Christi Texas

I am going on vacation next month in Texas. I would like to know if I can metal detect on the beaches in Corpus Christi. Do I need any permit and are any beaches restricted? Hopefully I can get my Excalibur some detecting time. thanks. By the way I got a chance to detect in Waikiki last year and can't wait to go back. Someone on this forum wrote after 200 coins you could expect a ring. I was up to 187 and found a silver Arabic ring. Lots of designs but no stones. You have a great forum here. If you ever get a chance to go i would Highly recommend it. Thanks Bye

Just scouted out some of the local beaches for furure hunting! I did not actually hunt. No prohibition to metal detect signs!!.....................HH.............Joe

I will be there for Thanksgiving 27,28,29 2013 and would like to do some detecting while I am there. Can anyone suggest to me where to go and where not to go while I am there?
