Metal coil bolts....

Tesoro claims they do not have any affect on the opperation of the machines, but some people change to plastic hardware just to be sure. The Tejon is shipped with a plastic wing nut and screw, but that mahcine is extreamly sensitive and I am sure a metal bolt would affect its opperation. Many guys will drill out the hole on their coil mounting ears to accept a 1/4" plastic screw. In my opinion this is a stonger set up and it holds the coil better. I have done it myself on most of my machines and coils. Tesoro will be switching over to the larger size plastic hardware on new models (as we speak).

as the nylons wouldnt tighten all the way. I couldnt find the larger bolts that scully was talking about, so I went with stainless and a wing nut. Didnt seem to affect it any. Looking back, I probably should have kept looking for a larger nylon and drilled it out.

Exactly what I did on my Tejon. Two months after I got it the factory nylon bolt popped it's head off. I went to Lowes hardware and got a heavier duty nylon bolt and wing nut and enlarged the coil hole a little and now it's perfect. Just my opinion, but the factory bolt is seriously under sized for the job. HH

Scully,
Now if we could just get them to stiffen the control knobs like they did on the X-2 the detectors would be darn near perfect, don't you think?

It is extremely irritating to look down and realize your GB knob is a full 360 degrees from where you set it 30 minutes earlier. Oh no, how long has it been like that? How much ground did I travel over with my machine out of whack?

Prop your machine up with ruler near the coil and air test several different coin types, note the distance. Then switch hardware to a plastic set and repeat. Do you see any differnce?

On my Tejon, for me it's bumping the #1 disc knob. And then after seeing it's moved, thinking. Well no #!&(*$$ !! wonder I've got 3 nails and a Wrigleys gum wrapper. HH

I traded it a couple of years ago. You might think I'm crazy (knowing your Tejon pedigree), but I traded it for a Pantera & extras, and never regreted it. I didnt get that extreme depth that you all in the mid-west get...and that was before I swapped out the bolt too.:)

right back in the same position. Different setting, but the same position. I am sure you meant 180
