Yes! That was a spur of the moment kind of thing..A very long and hard hike! Luckily, it was overcast cool and spitting rain, the Big Lake was flat as glass and surprisingly warm enough to wade barefoot. We got into a major long cut right up to the dunegrass, and a guy could just taste the gold in there, but alas, it escaped detection. It was a trek, good thing we both made it in and out of there with no ill effects. I sure would not want to make that long walk in any amount of heat over 70 degrees, or try to haul Petes carcass out of there in any weather even field dressed!.
