Merry Widows and lots of 1916s

Hello All,

Still up north but haven't got together with Rick(ND) or James(ND). Been detecting a few farm sites and abandoned houses. Yesterday found a aluminum Condom container- prospectos. Looks like post WWI-1930's vintage.

Also found two 1916 buffalos in the same hole, along with a couple of wheaties- one was a 1910-s. Last barber quarter was a 1916-D, last barber dime also 1916, and an at a couple of the farm sites only one coin find- a 1916 S or D wheatie. Must be a 1916-D merc out there somewhere.

Pics when I get back home.

HH All

Chris

I've been getting my share of Coins also. You best leave the 16-d Merc in the ground when you find it so it can mature a bit more. :poke: And I think you best leave the 16 Standing Liberty Quarter also. :drinking: Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you Chris and can't wait to see some Pics of your finds when you get back home.:super:

Looking forward to your post of weekend finds.

I may be up here for another week or so. Perhaps next weekend get together??!! I did try one of the sites that was supposed to be an old ballfield but grass was still a foot high. Even with the WOT couldn't get close enough to the ground and still not positive it is the right place. Didn't find anything.

I will have to keep an eye on the weather and see what the weekend looks like Chris. It would be great to get together again and see what we can find. There is a Club Meeting on Friday if you want to come on out and meet some of the other guys and see a lot of nice finds. I am sure there are a few that would like to meet you and put a face to the name on the Forum here. Meeting usually starts at 7:00pm in Chaffee at the Cafe. My finds will be posted after work today so until then Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
