This is my first post to the forum.
I am thinking of picking up an EXPLORER XS and would like to know what first few accesories I should add. NOT including the different coils that are available. Thanks

What's up buddy?Glad to see ya posting on the "dark side". LOL.
You know what I am going to say about accessories! Sunray Adapter/Stand,A good set of headphones like Gray Ghosts to use with Adapter stand, and of course, the best thing since sliced bread,The Sunray X-1 Probe!!!
I still, after over a year, only have the stock coil and I can tell you,I wouldn't trade my X-1 for all of the after market coils together!OK,yes I would, too much money not to,but I would have a new X-1 ordered first! The X-1 is just so great,I can not picture using another detector with out it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

That's what I needed..some solid good info from someone who has used the Explorer for awhile.
The Sunray X-1 probe and adapter/stand sound like worthwhile investments.
And maybe when the weather breaks we can get together for that hunt down your way.
Happy Holidays

The X-1 probe would be the most useful item. It is a very good for pinpointing.

That adaptor stand is a good idea because most of the good headphones use 1/4" plugs. And it keeps the machine off the ground too. I use the Joey eliptical coil and it is great for trashy areas.
