Mercury dime!

Goldstrike

Well-known member
Metal detected a park yesterday that I thought was a fairly 'modern' park. Apart from a silver ring and bunches of modern clad coins from 2 previous hunts, I did not have any expectations of anything more than that.
Anyway, I spoke to an old-timer (must have been 70 plus) and he informed me he used to play on this park when he was a kid and it could be 80 to 100 years old!! A little later, I got a silver signal 38-39 and I dug this mercury 1939 silver dime from 8 inches deep. Not worth much and I normally wouldn't have posted this coin but I was surprised at the condition of it. I just used soapy water to clean it by the way. I hope to dig many more silvers from this park!!!

Oppps I meant to have posted this on the Minelab Safari /Quatro forum!!

Wow great shape that thing looks like it was minted yesterday WTG. HH

Glad you posted it. Some people on the forums are questioning
their detectors because they have not found any silver out there.
Nice find.
