MEN'S PLATINUM WEDDING BAND, WOW!

I haven't been out in awhile because I had to have a major back operation (Very painful operation by the way). I was given the OK by my Doctor to "have at it" last week so I went to the beach after the East Coast storm but it wasn't as good as it could have been. Last night a hunting buddy of mine told me he found a beach that he said he found 4 silver rings, I told him lets hit it hard today and we did. he found 3 more rings and we both had a load of change (mostly quarters as luck would have it) Here are my finds. The platinum of course was a complete surprise, it is the third one I found since the late 80s when I first started:detecting:. It happens so infrequently that I thought at first it was white gold but the weight threw me. When I got back in the car I put on my reading glasses and it said Plat, What a way to end the year. (I'm writing this post on Friday the 31st of December. Happy New year all, time to party:beers:

I will be posting a video of this past year finds as I cant do much of anything till the Doc gives me the OK to return to work

Very nice find.. you stated that the weight threw you... what do you mean by that?
Is platinum heavier than gold?
Also, where does this type of metal come in at on a discrimination scale?
Felix

Platinum is heavier then gold. I don't have a scale on my machine it is a Excal you go by sound instead of a meter

nice !!! i haven't found white gold yet ,,,a PLAT would make my year..

Nice finds ratpack ...
Do you find more jewellery in the water than in the sand?

Congratulations on your finds, Iam glad to hear that you can metal detect now. Good luck on next year.

Welcome back Ratpack! What a way to come back! I'm still waiting for a nice platinum ring too. HH!

Still waiting for my first after five years of waterhunting...beautiful ring my man! Congrats

Gotta like that platnum!!

I read years ago that native minors of South America thought the platnum nuggets they found in a river there were gold nuggets that weren't fully developed and they threw them back in the water to "mature"! :surprised:
