Melting Snow

New member
I'm on vacation in Idaho this week. I live in Arizona. The area I am in Idaho still has most of the ground covered with snow. I didn't bring my detector because I was not checking luggage and didn't want to chance someone from TSA telling me the poles were weapons. I do wish I would have brought it, there are some places I could have detected and I have access to some old ranches.
Anyway, look for areas where the piled up snow along parking areas has melted. Just scanning the ground with my eyes, I have found several coins. I was really looking for a ring or something of greater value than the clads I found. Anyplace lots of people have been and snow was plowed there is always a chance of a valuable item that was lost in the snow being pushed up in a snow pile.

Good hunting, John K

I moved to AZ from Iowa last year, but spent many a winter hunting in the snow back there.Look for the fields, empty lots, ect where they dumped the snow from street cleaning. As the snow melts you should be able to find some coins and bling. Also, locate the local sledding hills and walk the areas where the snow has melted off.Good luck.
