Medallion

Hi from Australia,

I went for a short hunt yesterday morning seeking old pre decimal coins.
Targets were sparse but I had fun and a good walk in the outdoors.
I did manage an 1893 medal minted to celebrate the wedding of The Duke of York who later became King George 5th of England to Princess May of Teck , later became Queen Mary.
The medal saved the day a bit , one penny I cant even read due to the copper bubbling up from acid in the soil.
However, the silver sixpence is in good condition.
Happy swinging.

Hi there Terra.......Sweet find, that 1893 mem.token. (They're all good)

Maybe I Will I be flying over your QTH in late 2010....due into Sydney for a few weeks.

Hope you find a lot more silver by then.

What search-head/ frequency are you running?

A very good unit in the right hands........

Best regards, Matt.

G'day Matt,

Thanks mate...lately I've taken a liking to running the 5x10" DD (18.75khz) for general park and beach detecting.
I find it covers a lot of ground and seperates close together targets.
I use the 6" HF for really trashy sites.
I used to live in Sydney...lots & lots of good detecting spots and beaches - you will have fun.
Have a great trip Australia Matt.

A couple of very nice finds Terra 1959!
Yeah; I love it when I get down to Sydney. It's my favourite detecting destination. There are just sooo many great spots to hit that produce great totals.
