Me & my QXT Pro are benched this Weekend

Well there won't be any swinging for me this weekend. Kidney stones have sidelined me. Woke up two in the morning on Thursday with that oh so familar pain. Yep another kidney stone and another trip to the ER. Stone effectively removed and a nasty stent left in it's place. Very uncomfortable and nearly impossible to bend. So no playing with my new QXT Pro this weekend. But thats ok, all the more time I can spend with my wife and daughter on this Father's Day weekend. And I like to take time now to say "Happy Fathers Day & Good Hunting" to all you Whites Detectorists out there. Mike

Enjoy your children while they are young as time passes quickly and mine are in their 40's.

As far as kidney stones had them several years ago and indeed painful...Had to have Liptropsy(shocking) to break them up and pass them.Sure hope I never get them again and good luck with your new toy as lots of time before the snow flies...

Same back to you Mike. Speedy recovery also.

OUCH! at least you got to play with your QXT a little before being sidelined.get well

Thanks for the warm thoughts guys. Other than being a re-occurring kidney stone producer I'm very healthy. So I'm thankful for that. Plus after umpteen stones you begin to know what to expect. I get the stent out Wed. so next weekend I'll be back in business and no jewelry will be safe. Since I'm house bound I might try putting together an airtest chart for the QXT. I'm starting to have hunting withdrawls aready so I need you guys to get out there, put the coil to the soil and make some awesome finds and post pictures I can stare at and get my fix :). Again Happy Father's Day to All. Mike

Hey Mike it might make you feel better to know that I went through a similar dilemma myself. The VERY first time I went MD'ing with my first beep and dig I had some good success finding an old ( still working ! ) Timex watch and an antique broach. ( Similar to your first QXT finds ) I was burrowing around and under bushes, searching trails along the coast and having the time of my life. Next day I woke up ready to hunt all day but I had a problem. Poison oak had swollen my face and closed up my eyes. Long story short I was sidelined for 2 interminably long weeks before I could hunt again. I determined it was the detector gods, pixies, whatever, exacting their toll for admission. Congrats, apparently you've earned membership ! Good luck and Happy Fathers Day to you and all fathers on the forum.

Thank you for the FD wishes, and hope your back swinging soon...Never had stones yet, but I heard it is about as painful as being kicked in the Jimmy...OUCH!!!

HH,

Hope you feel better soon, and your QXT along with the finds waiting for you aren't going anywhere. You know what's kind'a cool to think about. The other day I was watching a show on history from like the 1870's or so and I kept thinking to myself...."At that time and date I know where an 1855 seated quarter, an 1835 bust dime (with large cent), and an 1858 silver three cent piece are sitting in the ground right now, along with several other coins. Most of my finds I can put you right on top of from memory, down to a few feet. If I ever do any time traveling I'll need some quick money so guess where I'll be going to get that? It's just wierd to think of those finds that way....that at such and such a time when something important in history was taking place I know where certain items are sitting in the ground waiting to be discovered. Sort of your own way to reach back and touch time if you know what I'm saying here. Hard to put into words...

Anyway, get better quick and go get some keepers.
