It's been a hot summer but I 'am taking the golden out tomorrow.
Does anyone else hold of f digging in the dry ground to avoid damaging
the grass. The great lake beaches here are closed to detecting until after
labor day, but I need to dig some coins.:tesoro:

I feel the same way. I did not do to good in the month of Aug. The ground is like rock. I have to travel between an hour to an hour and half to find a beach. Most of them get hit a lot. So good luck to me. I do have a beach about 50 miles away that you can not hunt till after Labor Day. Well, My wife and I went on a garage sale drive. I drove to this place to see if I could get my permit for after Laber Day. They let me get it. Now come Tuesday morning I will Be in the water one hour before that office opens. Maybe I will get a jump on everyone else. I hope... KEN

I cant wait around for rain. I get too impatient. Instead, I look for areas that are already dead or dont have grass at all. A little more work to find these areas and to extract the goods from the rock-hard ground, but I need my fix!
