I got out a few times this week and for me this is pretty good. I especially love finding a good button. The ones not up close are just flat buttons and also a spencer casing. The mexican silver coin is dated 1777 and I think it's a 2 reale? For all you bullet experts does anyone know why the top of some of the 3 ringers look like they have a hole dug out of them? I added a picture of one. Also the big fat bullet on the bottom has a round tip anybody know what kind it is? Thanks.

yessir, a very good week. turn the reale over, and you might be able to see "2R" about the 10 o'clock position on the reverse. all the others are the same from the same time period. nice relics, j, some good hunts indeed. hh,

The bullets with the holes in them looked to be pulled .The soldier would unload his gun this way instead of discharging his weapon.
Nice finds!

Often times the rifles issued to the Union Army would miss fire. When this happened the ramrod would be extracted and a worn device attached. The ramrod would then be inserted and screw the worm into the bullet and extract it.
