I don't post a lot but I do read the forum everyday.

Got out today because the temp got up in the 70's here.

Like to hit the school playground it's always amazing what you can find.

I hit two schools playgrounds today and dug 30 quarters, 21 dimes, 22 nickels and 58 pennies
1-huge diamond junk ring, a kids junk flower ring and a 10k Opel gold ring size 7 in the 4 hrs that I was hunting.
I was using my MXT with the 4x6 White's Shooter DD coil.
I ran the machine in coin & jewelry with the gain on 8 and discrimination at 2 with a slight audible from threshold.
I did get some iffy signals at times from the coil which I dug.
But I use the White's Eclipse 4x6 and the 6x6 coil 98% of the time.

Sorry for the long post & pictures I get carried away at times.
Happy Hunting to all!

You are smoking, that is a great haul for that lot. The folks must be richer there that they are here. I spent all day plowing snow, woke up to 8" & had to go to work. What reading did you get on the 10 K ring, The only one I have found came in at 20. I too use the 4x6 dd & am wondering about the 6x6 or the 8x8 how does the 6x6 compare to the 4x6. I'm looking for something with a little more depth.

Billy, you did real good. Nice finds................

Great finds there and it's great to hear about your finds. Your pictures are awesome! Thanks so much.. Hey BTW, I wear a size 7. :bouncy: Billy. I'm so happy for you and hope you find many many more great finds. Welcome to the world of the Findmall Forum.......We have some fantastic people here on the forum. Welcome aboard.

Bula, sorry to hear about the snow. Darn it! Job security? That wasn't even funny. You'll have your time out and about metal detecting. I know you will find many firsts this year.

HH to all,
Nancy

Congrats on the gold ring
Looks like digging lots of signals paid of in clad and other targets.
Nice to see some hints of green grass rather then white snow:cheers:

Hi:

I hit 2 playgrounds. I would guess no one had detected them yet (unusual for here).

The 10k read 12 in the foil range. Most of my nickels come in at 18-20.

The 6x6 is pretty similar to the 4x6 for depth. But the 6x6 hits a little hard on targets for me.

I have never tried the 8x8. Probably will get out again tomorrow.

Thanks forthe info I think I have been setting my disc. to high I run at 4 most of the time.

Nice finds. Its great to start seeing finds being posted after such a long winter. I hope to be out in the next few days. HH Dennis in Idaho

Bula, you mention an 8x8 coil. Which coil are you refering to? HH Dennis in Idaho

Bula:
You can run the smaller coil with less disc because it's not seeing as many ground objects.

If you go to far past the midway preset mark between the 3 and 4 you cut out nickels.

I sometimes run the disc at 3 on my larger coils because they are seeing more ground objects.

This works for me according to the type of soil here and what area I am hunting in.
