Hi All,
Recently went on vacation with the misses and tried to squeeze some MD in where I could. First place I was able to spend a fw hours was at Cheesequake state park in NJ. Spent a couple hours at the "beach" area and the woodchipped playset area right near there. Found a little clad and a TON of pull tabs/beer bottle caps. (I think I'm ready to start discriminating a little more. Digging everything is getting old!) But I was swinging and had a good time. I also was able to get a permit from them for free to MD there for a year. So that's cool. It's 1/2 mile from the inlaws house.
Next place I was able to MD was my Mom's backyard in Upstates NY. There's been a house on the property since the 1840s. And noone has MD'd there before. Well first thing I hit when I walked out her back door was a 1920 wheat in decent shape about 4 inches deep. I'm like "Sweet! This is gonna be great!" Well, I worked her yard for about 4 hours in a couple different sessions. I found a bunch of old tools, an Axe head, farm stuff. All cool to see, but man I wanted more of those coins. I'll be going back in a month, but it might be too cold to dig. But I'll be trying. I might try coin only with the 250 and see how I do. I'll post a picture of the finds one of these days. I just need to be able to do it from home.
Later,
Brian
