McDave: Are you staying safe up there?

Hope you're not close to the big forest fire up there. I'm 3 to 4 hundred miles SE of you and a couple of days ago we got a good dose of smoke from it for about half a day. Stay safe up there partner.

I appreciate your concern. I am about 60 miles upwind of that fire and smoke, so I would'nt even have known about it if it was'nt on the news. Pretty nasty though, people were being evacuated etc .. not good. On a positive note we had a hard frost last night (killed my tomatoes damn it), and it's supposed to get cold again tonight .. down to the low 20's ... so I think that might be helping to keep the fire under control. It's been very dry up here this summer, so that did'nt help things. Thanks for asking ..

Glad to hear that you are out of the line of fire....so to speak...The upwind part sounds good but 60 miles is still way too close. From all reports, it's a huge fire but thankfully the weather seems to be helping some.
