Maybe problems with my XLPRO

Hello Guys,
I'd like to know if it is normal that my xlpro starts to shout when I lower GB with coil on air...and it stops only when I reset it with the trigger.
It needs assistance?

Sounds like, mabe, you are setting it on top of a piece of metal thats in the ground.
Have you read the manual and got all the start up down pat??
Did you set your audio for your threshold?
Do you have it in GEB Norm, although the manual does state you can set the machine in any of the GEB modes, but you can only check it in GEB Norm.
Do a forum search on the 6000 XL Pro,you will find a treasure of info.
Im nobody, but I read everything I could before I started using my Pro.
I bought a used machine with two coils and one of my coils was bad. I thought I was stupid and couldnt follow instructions until I swapped coils. Everything fell in place then.
Good luck with your Pro, I love mine, use it with a 5.3 Bullseye coil all the time.
Im sure some of the pros will chime in here and give you some help.
HH,
John

Ok, maybe I misread what you posted.
Are you saying, you are groundbalancing and when you lower your coil you get the noise or are you saying when you are holding the coil in the air and reducing your audio/threshold??? you get the noise?
I can say this, whenever you make any change on that machine you have to squeeze the trigger to clear the circuits.
I tune my audio with the trigger squeezed and then re ground balance in GEB Norm and recheck my audio/threshold although the manual says you can do this in any of the GEB modes. I just always do it in GEB Norm, its easy just a turn of a knob and Im in GEB Norm.
Hope this helped,
John

Hello Bowie,
Thank You for reply.
I'l try to be more clear. When I turn anticlockwise the Sig. Bal. knob (to regulate signal) with coil on air (first step for GB procedure) my XLPRO starts beep until I reset it with the trigger. It happens only when I decrease Sig. Bal. not when I increase it.
Example:
I turn on XLPRO in GEB/NORM, regolate thresold for faint hum, raise coil with SIG. BAL. knob on preset, then try to GB (air/ground). If my XLPRO (lowering coil) gives a positive threshold I try to decrease SIG. BAL. turning it anticlockwise (with coil on air). At this point my XLPRO starts shouting until I reset it with the trigger.

I'd like to know if Yours XLPRO too have this behaviour or when You regolate Sig. balance towards bad ground they remain silent.

Best regards,

Ale

heya akille68,
thats normal, when reducing your signal you get that noise, and like changing modes you have to squeeze the trigger to clear the circuits.

John

yes! that is correct!..after setting the detector up just "hit" the trigger, and this will re-set the circuitry for optimum performance!
