Got the itch to go out and do some detecting and play with the E-trac a little. It was already dark, so I figured I'd practice listening for good targets (without the backlight on). Went into my own backyard. Boy is there a lot of trash in my ground!! Really had to go at a turtles pace. My house was built in 1892 and used to be a sorority house for the college. I was out there probably 20 minutes and found three coins, two wheaties 1950 and 1951 and a 1943 Merc. Not bad for 20 min. Here it is Dec. 22 and my ground wasn't hard at all. The plugs I dug literally fell apart the ground was so soft. I'll keep at it till mother nature doesn't allow. Anyways Everyone, Have a Merry Christmas!! , and I'll see you all in Jan. at the meeting.

Congrats on your finds. This has been a strange winter so far. Seems there is quite a few people still hunting.

Good luck, it looks like it will remain in the 40's next week as well. What strange weather for December, I think the farmers almanac was way off.

Way to go Nathan. How about that......right in your own back yard. I bet there's a lot more to come out of there. Merry Christmas to you too and HH, Nancy

Nice finds Nathan!.......in your back yard...that's great...I'd be hunting the #$*) out of it. Good Luck!!

McLucky knows all too well about detecting "your own yard". Front yard. Back yard. Side yards..... and then going over it and over it again. Right Steve?! :bouncy: HH, Nancy

That's a fact, you just don't know what's there till you check,my yard had silver,rings...one a now returned class ring,a fob,a half a platoon of toy soldiers and a few other goodies. Hope you've just cracked the surface...good luck!
