Howdy, you can call me Mac.I live in western OH & hunt mainly old coins. Most of our ground is nuetral & loamy. The coins are deep. What kind of depth could I expect, on say ,an indian head penny laying flat?I have considerable experience with a Cibola & wondered how it compaired to an X-Terra 70. Much obliged,Mac

Hi mac nice to meet you. I love hunting old coins too and recently found some nice silver and old copper coins at a site I have had my eye on for awhile. I used 2 coils for the job....the stock and the elliptical DD coil both with success. I was using the prospecting mode on both occasions with the coils and all targets came in loud and clear. Also in prospecting mode you get very nice depth. No coin I found was deeper then 6" and the oldest coin I found was a 1943 half penny and the best coin on the day was a 1947 florin.....nice looking coin. (I need to clean them up and will post some pic's here soon) I can tell you this about the XT-70, she will do all you ask it to do and some......unlike the cibola you can manualy ground balance the XT-70 which is great. The tones are different to the crisp sounds of the cibola and you have a nice screen to help ID some finds which depending on the user can be a bonus. Get your hands on one and do some self testing and I'm sure you will get a smile on your face after using it if you get my drift. Did I even mention GOLD TARGETS? well thats another story for another day........dont forget the Explorer forum either, another brilliant coin and relic machine.
Cheers!
